This handmade sculpture is made by twisting individual strands of various gauge non-tarnish copper wire together until I form the shape of a handsome Highland Cow. Each piece is unique and has their own character. This one has his head thrown back as though he is calling to gather the rest of the herd.
The copper has a warm tone which catches the light and will mellow beautifully over time. The intricate pattern of the wirework allows light to flow through him so he portrays both strength and fragility at the same time, much like nature itself.
I also create sculptures using silver-plated wire.
