Cailleach is the Celtic goddess of the cold and the winds. Sometimes known as the Veiled One or the Queen of Winter, the Cailleach determined the winter’s length and harshness.

This painting was a joy to create. I wanted to give her an otherworldly feel, her deep-set eyes gazing upon the world.

This artwork has been created with watercolour and coloured pencil, using only Prussian blue. It also has light sprinkling of silver paint, which sparkles in the light. I have used several tehniques to create the organic quality of the paint marks.

This painting is sold mounted in an Ice-White lightly textured mount and is presented in a cellophane bag along with a backing board. The mounted size is 12" X 16" and is ready to slot into a frame of your choice (it is sold unframed). The painting aperture is 8" X 11.3". It is discreetly signed in the bottom left-hand corner.

We are a very environmentally conscious household, so wherever possible your parcel will be securely packaged with reused shipping and packing materials.
