Red, grey and brown squirrels frequent my semi-wild garden in winter and feed on the hazelnuts and walnuts they find there. They are such acrobatic little characters, it is fun to watch them, and it is this sense of industriousness and quirky movement that I wanted to capture in my watercolour painting entitled "Busy!".
Painted on Hahnemühle 600g rough mould-made watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints, "Busy!" comes mounted in a warm white mount to fit a frame size of 35 x 45cm. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, this painting is part of a trilogy of winter forest animals. See also the leaping stag in "Fleeting Encounter" and surprised stare of the fox in "Paths Cross".
