Artwork description:
I regularly walk a track that is lined with bramble bushes. They have been laden with fruit and are covered in bees this year. Bumble Bee and Bramble is a small linocut, capturing a little bit of the natural world in late summer. I deliberately restricted myself to one colour, in order to keep the image simple and immediate.
I took a couple of photos while on my walk then drew straight onto the lino block. I then cut the block, inked it and burnished each print by hand as opposed to using a press.
This is one of an edition of 12. Each print varies slightly which adds to each ones uniqueness.
Each print is numbered, titled and signed with my initials in pencil on the front.
The circumference of the circular image is approx. 7cm. and the paper measures 15cm x 21 cm.
Each print comes in a print bag and is posted by Royal Mail tracked and signed service.
