Artwork description:
Boston, Lincolnshire stands north of Greenwich on the Prime Meridian and was once a world player, providing a name to several places overseas including Boston, Massachusetts. It was a hub on the main railway line from London to the North and had a thriving port and large fishing fleet. But the tide has since ebbed in Boston. In World War One the German Navy put paid to her fleet, then the railway hub was removed to Doncaster and the town is now choked by transient road traffic. In 2016 Boston, the former international player, voted more than 3 to 1 in favour of Brexit, the highest margin in the country.
This is an original relief print pulled from an engraving cut in rubber in an edition of 6 prints only. The image is 6½ by 9½ inches on a sheet 10¼ by 15½ inches. I can trim the sheet to a particular size should you wish. Please feel free to contact me to put a question or make a remark.
