I saw the most beautiful boat sailing in the west coast of Scotland. It had such sleek lines, I started to make lots of sketches and took many photos before it disappeared.
This painting is of that old boat but I have imagined the mist and light to increase the atmospheric effect.
It is painted in the indirect method of many, many glazes gradually building up to create a watery and eerie light. I deliberately left the drawn lines which I thought added movement and another dimension.
Maybe slightly Turneresque!
