Bidean Nam Bian, Glencoe
oil on board original landscape painting.
This is an oil painting, done in the style of my watercolour sketches which I make outside, directly infront of my subject. By recreating the spontaneous mark-making of "on-the-spot" sketches, this style captures my real-time response to a place, making it more permanent.
The sketch for this painting was made from the carpark on the A82 looking up between two of the three Sisters of Glencoe. It was a sharply cold day, and I worked as quickly as possible before the wind made drawing too painful!
Framed in a fresh white wooden frame.
