Watching starlings one evening at Shapwick Heath near Glastonbury, between the sun going down in the west and the moon already risen in the east, there were large flocks flying past urgently. The last group was much smaller, following in line this time and amongst the wonderful hiss of their wings I could hear them chuntering. It's always magical watching them leaving me feeling energised and elevated.
