This piece, although abstracted, refers to the local area, near where I live. There are two main rivers, the Taw and Torridge, that are very close by and the old railway line - the Tarka Trail, runs by the side of these. When the weather is fine, I often walk down to the quayside, where there is a former station house and signal box, now a cafe. There is a muddy tidal beach where the the river rushes in and creates a wide swathe of water. The view is out to the horizon, encompassing hills and dunes in the distance. Its almost always windy there, and on a hot day it can be very refreshing to sit by the river.
