Original artwork description:

I noticed this gentleman in Benares (another name for Varanasi) sitting with his paanwala friend at the Dashashwamedh ghat during the trip before my last one. I loved the red wall behind and the light hitting on the left side of his face and the wonderful shadow that it created. I had also made another painting of him then titled - A smoke at the paan shop which incidentally had won a purchase award from the Qingdao art museum in China in 2014.
Surprisingly, I found him again after five years in the same place sitting at his paanwala friend's shop during my last trip to Varanasi almost 2 years ago. Either it was his routine to be there every day at his friend's shop or just a coincidence that he was there during that time. Nevertheless, I was happy to find him there again :)
