Painted on-site at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, WI. Finished using a 3-step process in which the flowers are painted on-site in oil, then in studio the flowers are covered in masking fluid and a background of casein paint is created with splattering effects. In the final step the mask is removed, the background is glazed in oil with additional stippling effects added, and additional glazing and texture are added to the flowers. The "Beauty of Livermere" Poppies are are a brilliant red variety. and are accented by lavender purple allium flowers and a background of light green and deep green with the splattering and stippling effects. as a final touch Iridescent pearl paint has been added to mimic the fuzzy texture of the buds and stems, and bright white highlights on the flowers indicate the the sunlight on their glossy petals.
Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a gold finish and ornate moulding. May be purchased unframed by request.
