Original artwork description:
I was attracted by the fall of the folds of Saskia's skirt as she sat down to pose and decided to make a painting out of the drawing from that day and form the folds into relief. as with the other pictures in my collection, the relief is formed by cutting very precise shapes from timber and securing these in place using screws, nails and glue. This construction is then primed with gesso in preparation for oil paint. This painting was completed early this year.
