Original artwork description:

colour sumi inks on artisanal watercolour paper 300gm , 7.3 x 29.6 in., 18.5 x 75 cm., The seam in the middle is where the painting was folded when stored away, til recently found again.
This is another hit from my past. My early travels with paper and colours in hand. Over time, moving around too much one loses and finds things along the way. Such was this paper from the Gandhi ashram shops. Not acid free, but has maintained well. The traditional Chinese paints, the type ground on a wet stone are of great quality, and the painting looks as fresh today as the day it was painted. This was done on location, In this case out on the balcony of a simple backpackers bungalow room overlooking the beach in Goa, South India. This is done without preliminary sketching or construction lines, just paint on paper. That’s pretty much how I worked in those days. Here the mood is well captured.
The close up pictures are to get a feel for the brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s me (now) with the painting for perspective.
