Original artwork description:

In this new work, painted directly on repurposed moving boxes, I examine the complex relationship between urban development and the natural world. The transient, utilitarian surface of the cardboard echoes the themes of displacement and adaptation—shared experiences between humans and wildlife in rapidly transforming environments.

This piece is part of an ongoing series that reflects on how animals adjust to the encroachment of urban life, mirroring our own discomfort with constant change and relocation. While humans currently appear to dominate the reshaped landscape, the work invites contemplation of a possible reversal—a future where nature reclaims its space and the “green jungle” once again asserts itself over the built environment.

The painting challenges the viewer to consider who truly has the capacity to endure, evolve, and ultimately “move forward” in this era of ecological uncertainty.

Materials used:

acrilic, cardboard box
