Autmn is such a favourate time to catch the changing colours in the woodscape.
But I get the feeling that English woods give less ubiquously than somewhere like New England in the US.
We have to scurry around to find the best colours and you might get a small window of oppertunity.
English weather can be quite fikkle and wet and windy will strip the trees bare.
I am lucky that my local woods have some of the best colours and I know severl spots I go back to every year.
This painting was inspired during several walks where the large trees and the open gound make you feel like you float in a sea of colour.
I tried to capture the light and a sence of space, with the figure walking forward into it.
It was painted in the Autumn of2020
