Hidden and emotive. What is the subject thinking about? Earthy colour has been used in strong empowered gestural brush marks, against an exposing and vulnerable transparent ground. This life painting has been made using layers of oil over charcoal over oil. Scored through areas of wet paint describe some of the lines in the exposed colour. The title describes the intent - a painting about self.
Exploring emotions and layers within each of us, my painting connects to the unknown, unseen, overlooked.
