Ascension Church of Kolomenskoye.
Kolomenskoye is most beautiful living museum complexes in Moscow. This village was first mentioned in the testament of Ivan Kalita (1339). As time went by, the village was developed as a favourite country estate of grand princes of Muscovy.
The Ascension church was built in 1532 out of white stone to commemorate the birth of an heir to the throne, the future Ivan the Terrible.
The church reaches toward the sky like a rocket and quite often is called a White Column.
