Original artwork description:

This painting is of great value to me, both for what it means and for the technique I used to make it. Ana, sees and sees us as a look that questions, perhaps looking for answers. It is an actual face, that behind the cutouts and geometry you can see that special and alive look. First, I worked on the canvas with charcoal and pencils directly. In a not very detailed way, approaching the face together with the background. Then I applied faint glazes in pastel colors, over the whole work, to finally highlight certain spaces that cut out give the idea that in life not everything is the same, that things happen to us, and that leave their marks, but that only when we look in the mirror we can remember what they mean. The spontaneous white strokes on the black space represent the paths of life and hope, all so that Ana can look at herself in the mirror and recognize herself as she is. I like this work very much, because it also meant a change in my painting.
