Words and expression of a local landscape in the Blackmore vale, North Dorset.
Original impressionist watercolour painting on extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 300gsm 140lb.
I used a four colour technique in Windsor and Newton watercolours. I was inspired by the vibrant colours of the trees in late Spring and the grasses.
I used a wet on wet technique for the sky and background and then a swirling technique for the trees. I kept my brushstrokes loose using a small Chinese hake and then a Chinese brush for the detail of the grasses, etched out some of the paint in the foreground with my nail.
