50 x 70 cm - paper and acrylic on canvas - 2022
Algorithm (masculine noun): Set of operating rules whose application makes it possible to solve a stated problem by means of a finite number of operations. An algorithm can be translated, using a programming language, into a program executable by a computer.
This painting speaks of the norms of current society and of conformity to the pillars of standardized life which are the house, the car, the children and the money (through work in particular). In this painting, a young woman, languid on her sofa, comforts herself and checks whether she corresponds to these injunctions by launching an algorithm which reviews her life: yes, she has ticked all the boxes and has, according to the program , made a success of his life. Indeed, deviating from one of the pillars is often perceived as a deviance.
Paper used: 1000 Terminals cards for the car, children's books for the home, book on sexuality for children and Bonne Paye notes for money.
