Original abstract still life with suggestions of an insect collection, beetles, and patterns - inspired by memories of museum visits and created through experimentation with colour, value, layers, texture and mark making, painted in November 2018
Using an abstract base of vibrant acrylic colours I then worked on top of the colour base and began a process of subtraction, mostly through the use of white, until the forms of abstract shapes emerge. At some point the Artwork inspires an idea, or memory and is then developed further using pencils, ink, palette knives, and various mark making processes. The marks often reveal the energy with which my work is painted.
Part of a series of works - This painting is sold with NO frame and is 20cm X 20cm or approx 8" X 8" and would look great mounted in a floating frame as shown.
Do check dimensions carefully and any questions? please do ask :)
