There is a melancholy which I sense when walking stretches of the coast. These small boats lie as if abandoned. They witness the ebb and turn of many tides, but seem never to reach the sea. For me they prove a constant source of inspiration for drawings, combining as they do the beauty of nature and the reminders of visits to the seaside. Happy times!
