What a lovely way to spend a quiet Sunday afternoon. These folks are having a great time on the river in their boat as they watch the balloonists take to the sky.
I was inspired to paint this scene because I think that the contrasting colors of the balloons and the sky were breathtaking. The time period of this painting is 19th century, a time I find fascinating.
