    Help! - Make me an offer...

    It's been busy here. It's great having lots of finished work around me, but I'd prefer it if you had some of it. So make me an offer on anything that catches your eye! No sensible offer will be refused :) What am I working on? During the summer months I run glass casting workshops here in the studio woodland. They're all booked up for 2015, but I've just set up next year's Make-a-Monolith glass casting workshop schedule. Message me if you're interested! In the meantime, I have an interesting commission for a glass-panelled corner nook in a modern house. I'll try to show you how it develops here - so keep an eye on this page!

    These pictures show - colour mix testing, marking out and shaping, the glass in the kiln, preparing the mounting, and trial setting out. This is the first time I see the work as a physical whole - up to now it's existed only in my mind's eye. In this case, I decide I don't like the brownish areas. I am looking for something more like bronze - so it's back to shaping and another casting in the kiln...

    I thought you might like to see how I approach a new commission. Currently, I'm working on a commission for a wall-panel, to be similar to Powys Hills 1 but larger, to be mounted in her bathroom. She photographed the room, some artifacts she liked, and gave me the size... I start by mulling it over... choosing some useful reference photos, and making up and test-firing some coloured glass...
