  • Inspiration

    This truly inspirational place has so much grace and rustic charm I can see why Sir John Constable painted here. This is a hidden area five miles from where I live and it's on the outskirts of Gillingham and it's called "Peacemarsh" in North Dorset. I wanted to paint outside yesterday -Sunday it was cobalt blue sky with large fluffy clouds over the cornfields and I was painting under the shade of an old oak tree. I used a wet on wet technique for the back washes with a big hake made of hogs hair and showed how you colour mix .I show a series of colour washes then start adding detail and filling in.

    Relaxing in the studio

    Felt very relaxed in the art garden studio today I could hear the birds chirping away and I felt a self of emotion come out with my painting.
