  • 🌿Warm Botanical Triptych With Cotton Lace

A closer look at my handcrafted botanical triptych in warm ochre and orange tones. This small-scale mixed media set is created on paper, combining fluid oil-painted backgrounds with acrylic details and hand-crocheted cotton lace, used as collage to form delicate plant motifs. The palette brings a sense of warmth, calm, and a cozy, sunlit atmosphere. In this video, I show the artworks from different angles and in close-up, so you can fully appreciate the textures, layers, and tactile quality of each piece.

🦋 Handcrafted Butterfly Set Of 3

In this video, I’m sharing a closer look at one of my small-scale mixed media triptychs featuring delicate, semi-abstract butterflies. Each piece is created on paper using a combination of techniques. The backgrounds are painted in a fluid oil technique, while the butterfly contours are carefully drawn in acrylic. What makes this work especially unique is the use of hand-crocheted cotton lace, which I incorporate as collage elements to form the intricate patterns on the wings.

    Working on «Tropical Butterflies» series 🦋

I love creating graphic, expressive works where spontaneity plays an important role in the process. For this piece, I first created the vibrant orange background using a fluid oil-on-water technique, which produces organic, unpredictable patterns. After that, I refined certain areas with watercolor to soften transitions and add atmospheric depth. The butterfly itself is painted in cool tones with acrylics, creating a strong contrast against the warm, energetic background. I never fully plan the wing patterns in advance, the abstract textures and flowing shapes of the background often suggest the lines and structure of the butterfly to me during the process. This balance between intuition, contrast, and layered techniques is what makes the work feel alive and unique.
