The Scarlet Sails were painted in oils with a palette knife for Danielle

This is a portrait of Danielle, based on the adventure novel "Scarlet Sails" written by Alexander Grin, which I used on the certificate I signed for you, but you can call it anything you like. You can find translation of the story here: His novella Scarlet Sails, first published in 1923, is very popular in Russia. It's lyrical, romantic, and almost magical. Alexander Grin was a writer who specialized in romantic short stories when the Petrograd Revolution hit in 1917. After serving in the Red Army for a short period of time, he returned to the city, where he met a young woman named Nina. Alexander was so taken by her that he wrote perhaps his best known novel with a young woman like her as the main character, "Alye Parusa," or "The Scarlet Sails." In 1923, this beautiful fairy tale took place in a fictional land where Longren, a sailor, went to work making toys while caring for Assol, his young daughter, after the premature death of his wife. In the forest, the young woman chased a toy boat, one she was supposed to sell, where she met an old man named Aigle, who claimed he was a great wizard. His prediction was that she would be taken away to a faraway land on a ship with scarlet sails by a prince someday. Although she was teased for believing the old man afterward, she believed him nonetheless. Eventually, a ship captain (with the English name of Arthur Grey) came along and fell in love with her, and when he learned of the prediction, he decked his ship with scarlet sails and swept her off her feet.

A collection of oil paintings hangs on the gallery wall. My technique for painting layers was to use a palette knife and thick layers of paint. The use of a palette knife and thick layers adds texture and depth to the paintings. This makes the paintings more dynamic and visually appealing, as the different layers and textures catch the light in different ways.

With a palette knife. It's not finished, but worth sharing. Sunflowers are her favorite subject! Her palette knife creates thick impasto paint layers that bring the painting to life. As a result, the sunflower field is beautifully captured with vibrant colors and striking textures. In this painting, the impasto technique gives the sunflower petals a feeling of depth, creating a feeling of being in the field. Sunflower Field painting in progress by OLena Art

All three on one wall. A palette knife was used to paint this painting, and thick layers of impasto paint were applied. It depicted the vibrant colors of red, orange, yellow, and gold of the Colorado fall landscape. Various shapes and shades of trees and foliage are also seen in the painting, as well as the majestic mountains and rolling hills of the state. Autumn in Colorado is a beautiful time of year to paint.

Work in progress Rippled Sunset with a Palette Knife (Reserved for Mike)

This painting captures the beauty of a rippled sunset in all its glory. It is reserved for Mike. By using a palette knife, a viewer can experience dawn over the lake of the sunset in a more tactile way. A feeling of peace and contentment is evoked by the colors and shapes.

    There is healing in it.

    There is healing in it.

My father taught me the impasto technique of oil painting with a palette knife and I was inspired by many modern artists: Leonid Afremov, Lyudmila Agrich, Kim McAninch, Nancy Medina, Dima Dmitriev, etc... My other interests include fresco style paintings, abstracts, photography, and wood intarsia. The ability to perceive beauty brings inner peace and clarity. TRUTH, BEAUTY, AND GOODNESS is one. When inner peace is achieved, creation is possible. It can manifest itself outside in different forms, including art. According to John Updike, an artist creates something new without destroying anything in the process. There is still more that can be done with the art that has been created. With its energy, it transforms everything around it. There is healing in it.

A tent is where OLena Art sits and paints beautiful sunflowers, which she loves to do frequently. The subtle blend of colors emphasizes the beauty of the natural sunflower. She uses the palette knife to create thick layers of paint that bring out the texture of the petals, giving them a lifelike look. She also uses the knife to blend the colors together, creating an almost 3D effect that captures the beauty of the sunflower.
