I recently came across an interesting aphorism. It sounds French in the original. And it sounds delightful.
Don't say how many years you've lived, say what you've lived for.
It really shook me up, even though I didn't seem to have learned anything new. I realized that life is not just about purpose. Life is also about the ability to fulfill that purpose.
Or not to fulfill it, but just to live, like this plant.
But at least it's useful.
