Original artwork description:

A part of a series turning my favourite artists into icons. Yayoi Kusama was a true inspiration for me. Her story and what she creates are so very special, palpably felt in any of her installations. Her use of abstraction, lights, mirrors, and colour is incredible. She functioned at a time when not many were exploring the ideas or mediums she was, and was copied and plagiarised for most of her life without credit. She struggled a great deal, both professionally and personally, but is now one heralded as one of the most famous female living artists. The icon is entitled 'The Magic You Created Changed Me' because of the immense gratefulness I feel when in front of her work. She has delighted and inspired me, and so many others, and for that I am truly in awe of the woman.

Celebrated by many, this icon celebrates her life and achievements through a series of symbols. It acts as a visual storytelling of her life. Once purchased I can send you a full breakdown of every symbol used in the image.

Please get in contact if you'd like to commission an icon, I can turn any popular culture figure, a relative like your grandma, or even yourself into an icon. The personal icons will start with an interview to find out the symbols from your life, these can be in the form of 3d sculpture frame or digital print.

Materials used:

Acrylic Paint, Polymer Clay, Digital Print, Mirror, Collected Curio
