Artist's description:

This "writing lesson" is one of the oldest memories of my childhood.
Six years old , the school and the first pages of writing.
The teacher, an old woman, not at all affectionate, very strict, with a little mustache, wanted us to write entire pages of A, entire pages of B and so on with all the letters. It was very difficult at six years old, and, by the middle of the twentieth century, we were writing with a pen nib and an inkwell.
The nibs were often blunt and the ink flowed everywhere except where it should.
Of course, the teacher was furious and we had to start the endless page again.
This period does not represent a real good memory.
I had already the character of an artist, dreamer and little disciplined and, these endless repetitions under duress were very painful for me.
It was only later that I understood and appreciated the writing and reading that allowed me to apprehend the world with great freedom.
