During morning runs in SoHo, no one is around and sometimes, if you're lucky, you can spot the painters re-painting advertisements onto the sides of historical brick buildings. This is one of my favorite expressions of art in this city and a memory that I will carry with me all my life. When I snapped this picture a few months ago, I wanted to transfer the image to canvas and then add my personal touch to the canvas with acrylic paint. I do this to add character and life to the imagery. In this event, I was expanding upon the lesson of process. Since I live in the city of dreams, I realize that achieving these is often not as easy as we first expected, and it often takes more risk (such as painting on the sides of buildings), than we anticipated. However, with greater risks and imagination, we can often achieve the most amazing things and the most beautiful pictures, which others can then be inspired by.
