Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

A striking and unearthly image of a man - is he a man of the woods, or have the woods become man?

I am often inspired by folklore, and by poetry - England is haunted by strange men of the woods whether as the Woodwose wild spirit or the stone Green Men that can be found in so many churches.

This image is made by monoprinting green acryclic paint onto the paper, and then adding a black linocut on top. Each one in the edition is slightly different. It is supplied in a mount as shown.

Materials used:

Off white fine Japanese printmaking paper, acrylic, oil based printmakers ink
