An original oil painting on canvas measuring 100cm x 50cm. Signed on the reverse. Painted using Artist quality oil pigments, turpentine and white spirits.
Framed in a hardwood deep edge floater frame, finished in white.
Painted directly outdoors on the field easel. Working outdoors offers the painter more options during the creative process. Everything is in flux, moving constantly.
The painted surface boasts of a large variety of mark making and textures. The setting sun itself is painted using luscious impasto paint, applied richly with the brush.
This is one of the largest paintings I have ever created outdoors. Part of a new body of work exploring my local woodland over the Autumn and Winter seasons. Painted rapidly over 3 sessions, battling against the Yorkshire winds. Due to the scale of this piece, the canvas acted like a sail on a ship and painting it proved to be very challenging, although well worth the struggle in the end.
This piece would look great hung in the living room as a striking centre piece.
Shipped with a signed certificate of authenticity.
The painting will be packaged to a very high standard to lower the risk of damage caused in transit.
Artist quality oil pigments, turpentine, white spirits, hand stretch canvas (Linen).
