This painting is a commission from the Summer. I have been working on it off and on for months and many layers of colour have been used to create the sense of depth to the woodland and dappled light through the leaves. Oils can be slow drying so it has been a case of working on it, letting it dry while I work on other things, and then coming back to it and re-working what's there and refining it. I am pleased with the result, it is painted quite impressionistically but I feel that because the colours really work you get a strong sense of the forest and the lovely bluebells.
