“This painting draws inspiration from Dutch Italianate landscape painting, typically set in woodland with golden light and distant ruins or animals in the foreground. I wanted to explore the difference between traditional and contemporary techniques as well as the tension between abstraction and representation. I used many layers of fine glazes to create an overall warm glow." This painting has been exhibited in 2014 at "The New Georgians" exhibition at Orleans House Gallery (London).
