Artist's description:

Women no. 5 (Hope) is part of my Collective Identities series in which I explore various types of modern "tribes" influenced by culture, religion, politics, gender, sexuality and beyond. For this series my subjects are selected both from my own observation of the city streets and from stories of women whose intrinsic identity is confronted with extreme circumstances, forcing them to exhibit incredible strength.

This particular print depicts young African school girls and was made to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of the Chibok kidnapping of 200 girls by Boko Haram.

As all prints are hand pressed, each will have some minor differences, which I believe adds to the character of the print. I cannot guarantee that you will receive the edition featured in the photo.

Materials used:

linoleum block, Caligo inks, Ho-Sho paper
