This painting was made because my friend princess Lola wanted me to make something in feminine, pinky and lilac colours. She likes pretty things. I do not normally work with this colour scheme and found it quite a challenge, however, the result was a very 'womanly' painting. It reminds me of motherhood. I was working on 2 other paintings whilst making this one, one was black and yellow, and the other green. I found it very interesting that all the women that saw the painting process, headed towards Womanhood straight away, and all the men, made a b-line for the other two.
I finished this painting on the anniversary of the late Monsalud, my aunt, who was like a mother to me and whom I miss very much. I dedicate this painting to her.
Acrylic, gloss and ink on stretched canvas.
