Utilising vintage Edwardian and Victorian photographs as its source material, this image is a inspired by the old Welsh folktale of the Midwife of Llangefni. A dark tale of a dalliance between the aforementioned midwife and the fairy folk of the otherworld...

This piece was selected for the prestigious Wales Contemporary 2022, and shown at the Waterfront Gallery in Haverfordwest and the Gallery@Oxo on the South Bank in London.

The drawing itself was made with a range of graphite pencils on an A2 (42cm x 59.4cm) piece of heavyweight cartridge paper (220gsm) and finished with a professional fixative and matt varnish. The image has a 5cm border and is supplied framed, set in an archival mount and an A2 sized frame.
