Artist's description:

Bold and colourful large scale piece which will capture any rooms attention; ideal in a busy space as the different colours will be drawn out of it. A black frame will add an extra structure to the piece and contain its overflowing emotions.
This piece was made during my project on 'Abuse'; its a complex and meaningful piece that was inspired by a mixture of human and wolf characteristics. The concept behind it is similar to how the Native Indians used animals to represent different strengths and weaknesses in people. This piece is showing a girls face, half human half wolf. The wolf is her inner strength, wisdom and courage but the other side shows her eye with bold colours running down in the form of tear drops. Her inner beauty and strength is being lost and covered over by abuse. There is a bear paw and feathers placed in the piece representing that if she finds that inner self again she can be free to fly again and escape of the prison bars of her tears.
This was made up of layer upon layer; firstly starting with a background of bright inks and then building up on top of this with back ink and chalk. It took weeks to create the final image due to the fact it was constantly changing and I found I wasn't happy with the way it looked so had to keep overlaying more layers creating a further depth to the piece.
