This painted from a photo i took of the Oak Tavern near Farnborough Kent I was told by the flower seller opposite that it was originally an old farm house which dated back to the 15 century. I decided to paint it as if it was back in its country side setting without the duel carriageway that now surrounded it and letting my imagination run wild I placed it into an idealic snow setting.
The snow has freshly fallen not a footprint in site and the clearing mornings sky is casting deep shadows across the white fields.Someone is already awake in the farm house and lit the log fires, the wintry air is tainted by the glorious smell of wood smoke and all in the house is cozy and warm.
This is an oil painting on stretched canvas 15.75 by 15.75 inches and 1 inch thick.
I do hope you like it.
