Winter Warmth is about connecting with our ancestors shown through the ancient carvings, the turning of time (represented by the spirals) and the comfort and warmth of the standing stones that are a familiar site across Britain. The hare symbolises our connection with the Goddess and ancient practise. The other more literal aspect, is that the sun has warmed up the stone during the day and that the hare feels warm, secure and protected even at the coldest times of the year knowing that our ancestors are always with us.
Winter Warmth combines acrylic paint with frottage rubbings from leaves and fossils which are carefully glued to the canvas and then incorporated into the final painting.
Frame: 42.5 x 32.5 x 3.5 (Image colours may be slightly different depending on monitor colour).
