I was out walking along a canal and came across a number of house boats. However, I was struck by the reflections of this particular boat in the smooth surface of the water. The colour of the boat seemed to harmonise with the colours of the landscape around it too which was also a bonus - so, this painting resulted from the photograph I took of the scene.
