Artwork description:

An intricate picture of the winter skeletons of flowers in the field edge, umbrella-like cow parsley stalks and rich red dried up dock leaves. The snow is shallow, and the leaves and grass poke through. The beautiful blue sky and snowy field are a simplified, to highlight the delicacy of the plants at the hedgerow edge.

One of the things I find really beautiful about winter, is that with the bright greens and flowers gone and the low soft light, you can really see the richness in the browns and golds of the grasses and bare hedgerows.

I painted this in Corel Painter, on the computer. I decided to paint it digitally to allow me to cut out each of the lace like structures of the dried cow-parsley stalks, and lay them over each other, to create this delicate design.

This is a limited edition giclee print. The edition is limited to 50. The prints are signed, with the edition number. These are printed for me by Redcliffe Imaging Ltd. Redcliffe is a Fine Art Trade Guild Accredited Printer, based in Bristol.

The print can be brought framed, in a square white frame, or unframed. (This is the framed price. The unframed price is £20.) Please send me a message if you would like to buy it unframed. I have taken the picture "glass" out for the photos to prevent a reflection.

Materials used:

Printed with archive quality ink on Arches Aquarelle Rag, which is a 310gms genuine 100% rag, watercolour paper. This mould made paper complies with the highest archival standards and is extremely age resistant.
