This painting is based on a shuttered window I saw in a small town in Tuscany. I wanted to capture the abstract shapes in the shadows and keep a feeling of warm golden light on the yellow building. This painting is part of a series of water colour paintings based on Tuscany. It was painted by adding gradual layers of paint to build up colours and tones. It is flat mounted on to white mount board to show the raw edges of the watercolour paper.
This is then wrapped in clear cellophane to keep it free from dust to arrive in superb condition, ready to be framed. I will also include a signed thankyou post card with the title of the painting as a momento.
