Artist's description:
Wild Boar Fell is a mountain in Mallerstang on the eastern edge of Cumbria, England. It is 708m high, and is the 5th highest fell in the Yorkshire Dales. The Mallerstang area is one of my favourite parts of the Dales, the landscape is very dramatic and it is often overlooked by walkers. It's a real hidden gem. This might not be for long though as it is soon to be included as part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. To be honest, I've no idea why it wasn't in the first place as it is stunning.
This darker themed print was inspired after I took a rather challenging route up the fell, decided to scramble up the rocky face in favour of taking the long way round. Worth it though. The fell is named after the wild boar that lived here 500 years ago, but be careful of the cows near Garsdale station which I've heard often charge at you!
I love to print in a more painterly way and have inked up this plate all in one go, then run it through my printing press. I find it more expressive using this technique than the traditional reduction linocut or multi-plate method.
This is a limited edition print of 20. There are only 10 printed in ochre and midnight blue, the other 10 are printed in orange, purple and ochre. Each print differs slightly, due to the way each of them have been inked up. They are hand printed onto Fabriano 5 white acid free printmaking paper.
This print is shipped in protective film in a sturdy wide cardboard roll. It is loosely rolled to spring flat when opened. Frame and mount not included.
Shipping is the same price worldwide - shipping times to the US are 6 - 8 days.
