These are dahlias! Not peonies, but they look like peonies. I have never seen such large dahlias. Dahlias are usually not my favorite flower - they require a lot of work, and remembering to water them all summer and they don't bloom until autumn. Then, sometimes they get hit by an early freeze, and then all of that effort is wasted! These dahlias are worth the effort - they are stunning and gorgeous - I painted them several times, an we saved the bulbs for next year!
