Original artwork description:

A companion piece to "Where the Flying Things Go". This playful glass and ceramic mosaic is also inspired by a mackerel sky, this time with a more literal interpretation!
As the sun sets the lone fisherman is on the sea and watches the fish leave the sea. Like much of my work my story is also reminiscent of a folktale. I challenge you to find this one!
This gorgeous mosaic is made with bright coloured stained glass and iridescent glass (fish), vitreous glass tile with lovely gold fleck and ceramic tile. In the sea the fish outlines are made using grout that is then painted in silver ink.
I made the mosaic using the direct method, cement tile adhesive onto cement board.
The mosaic is framed in a black wood frame and ready to hang on a wall in your home.
The mosaic is made for an indoor space, it is not suitable for outdoors.

Materials used:

stained glass, iridescent glass, vitreous glass tile, ceramic tile, silver ink, cement board
