Artist's description:

I made this piece following a breakup. It speaks of loss, a look on how I felt inside following in the heels of it, the crack in the fabric of my being. This speaks of that but it also represents survival and positivity. The knowledge that no matter how big the hurt we heal and we grow stronger.
I built the canvas board and created the top layer with wire mesh and newspaper mache` then the painting process and layering took place. the edge of the crack is lined with wallpaper pieces I cut from a sample book of papers I found at goodwill, it represents the whispers that run through your mind and the flutter of your heart as you hear those whispers. For my paintings I use golden paints and inks, I make my own paste for my paper mache` and my coils.

Materials used:

paper, metal, wallpaper, recycled magazine, paste, inks
