Artist's description:

In Medieval times there was tell of a race of green men in a far off land who had one normal arm and one normal leg, the other arms protruded from their head .. and the second leg from their chesst. Well, Ive traveled quite extensively myself, attending and working at festivals at all the far flung corners of Europe and Ive never seen such a thing! Maybe someone had for warned them of my imminent approach... who knows?

The idea of 'fighting for your freedom' has, from afar, some appeal. It calls to me of the days of yore when honour was a virtue and men would sacrifice their lives for their chief, their family and their country. To be truthful, the appeal stops at the word 'honour' and I dont really fancy the sacrifice bit myself...

In the Norse myths there were originally two groups of Gods, the Vanir and the Aesir. These Gods fought a great battle against each other for years, untill one bright spark had the idea of sitting down and talking things over. The Gods made peace and as was the custom of the day exchanged hostages to show their commitment to this. When this had been done, to fully cement the deal all of the Gods spat into a great bucket and from the spit they made a man called Kvasir. Kvasir was the most wise man in the nine worlds and he wandered far and wide sharing his wisdom; that is until he was murdered by two dwarves. The murderous dwarves fermented his blood and turned it into a majikal drink named Odhroerir. Even a single drop of this elixir of knowledge could gift the drinker with great knowledge and the power of the poet. Spit is white and blood is red... in winter the Fly Agaric grow in great circles... some say that these circles are portals into the otherworld...
