Artist's description:

My proposal entry for the 'Muted' liquidex competition is Titled : "Human Kind We Are But One Thread" It is part of a series.
In this work I wanted to convey the effects of climate change from the perspective of the indigenous peoples of the rainforest, their respect toward the natural world causes them to work with it - as part of it.
By using the overall complimentary colours in the muted natural tones of blues, browns, and greens, with acrylic paint washes, along with embossed collaged materials for texture, I endeavoured to create an atmospheric feel that enables us to consider the changing landscapes of our natural world - often caused by human activity.
By also distressing the image through rubbing and scraping away at the paint, I hope to evoke a sense of memory - of time, a fading, an erosion, and the eventual disappearance of what once was...
The silent gaze of the solitary figure is embedded as part of the whole ... is yet 'but one thread', reflecting back to a distant memory.
The quote scratched into the image is based on philosophical wisdom concerning man and the natural world. It has been sourced to a Chief Seattle- an Indian tribesman.

The work is painted onto a canvas board with acrylic wash and ink , and is sealed with an acrylic varnish.
The work is unframed.
It will be delivered securely packed...
Any questions : I will endeavour to reply to you asap mainly evening times.
